A new agreement between Air France and Widerøe ensures better routing between the districts in Norway and the rest of the world.

Air France partner KLM entered into a partnership with Widerøe earlier this year and now it is confirmed that Air France also signs a so-called code share agreement with Widerøe. The agreement means that passengers can fly with both airlines on the same booking, thus gaining access to a better global route offering with greater flexibility on the journey.

“Our cooperation with Widerøe will be of great importance to Norwegians living and commuting from the districts. Direct connection to an international network of destinations on one and the same ticket will give greater freedom of travel. We look at Widerøe as a key partner to expand our route offerings in Norway, and we are pleased to give our passengers benefits in terms of flexibility and a greater number of destinations, “says Halvor Gløersen, Sales Director in Air France KLM Norway.

The new cooperation will give travelers – and especially commuters who live in District Norway – a completely new approach to Air France’s international network of air routes. At the same time, cooperation will mean that you can better serve the most important markets for incoming tourism to attractive destinations in the north and west coast of Norway.

Same ticket and check-in
The agreement entered into force on July 2nd, so it is already possible to book tickets. Air France has added an AF code on Widerøe’s domestic routes, which allows their passengers to change flights in Oslo and Bergen to continue their journey with the same ticket and check-in from a number of smaller airports around Norway.

“Widerøe is working continuously to improve the flight offer for our customers in District Norway. We have collaborative agreements with many companies and now we expand our cooperation with Air France.

Earlier this year we entered into a similar agreement with KLM. We are pleased that our customers get more travel options to choose from. Air France and KLM’s major networks provide access to more destinations for Widerøe’s customers and better access to all Norway for foreign tourists, says Christian Skaug, Widerøe Commercial Director.

The cooperation will cover the following routes:
• Bergen (BGO) – Aberdeen, Billund, Gothenburg, Florø, Ålesund, Molde, Kristiansund, Sandefjord (Torp), Kristiansand, Bodø and Tromsø
• Oslo (OSL) – Stokmarknes, Leknes, Mosjøen, Mo i Rana, Brønnøysund, Sandnessjøen, Florø, Gothenburg, Ørsta-Volda (Hovden)
• Copenhagen (CPH) – Kristiansand and Sandefjord (Torp)
