Sandön Island getaway package with fatbike and kayak

Sandön is the largest island in the Luleå archipelago, consisting of over 1300 islands, located in the inner part of the archipelago where Luleå River flows out into the Gulf of Bothnia. With Klubbviken Havsbad restaurant and cabins located on the north east part of the island this is a great starting point to explore the Luleå archipelago.

The tour boat transfer to Sandön starts from Södra Hamn in Luleå city and passes by the impressive ice breaker ships that have their home harbour in Luleå, the steel works and the island Stensborg and Altappen once an important part in timber and iron industry at the Bothnian coast.

After passing the industrial part of Luleås sea inlet you will only see forest covered island with sandy beaches. Many of them with summer cottages owned by locals. You hopp of the boat at the pier next to the sandy beach at Klubbviken Havsbad and you are ready for an island getaway with kayak and fatbike on your own.

Klubbviken has for many decades been a beloved place for locals for a fresh and sunny day at the sea. Today the place is managed by Johan Björklund who has great knowledge of the Luleå archipelago and the company is a part of Brändön Group which also manage Brändön and Pinebay Lodge.

Cabins at Klubbviken are simple camping standard double room with 2 single beds, all of them directly located at the sea front. Shared toilet, shower and sauna at the main building.
