Operating results for the Isavia Group before financial items and taxes in the first half of 2018 were positive to the tune of ISK 2,186 million, a 9% increase from the previous year. Operating income amounted to ISK 19,015 million, which is an increase of ISK 2,099 million, or 12%, from the same period last year.
Comprehensive income in the period was positive to the tune of ISK 1,571 million, compared to ISK 1,482 million in the same period last year, which is an increase of ISK 89 million.
“Isavia’s results were in all major respects in line with the company’s projections,” says Björn Óli Hauksson, Managing Director of Isavia. “The number of passengers at Keflavík Airport in the first six months of this year has increased by 15.6% compared to the same period last year. This is considerable increase is mainly due to the increased number of transit passengers, which accords with Isavia’s projections.
A record number of passengers has passed through Keflavík Airport in late summer. This increase in passengers means that there has never been more flight destinations from Iceland, both in Europe and North America.”
