In a press release from WOW air shows a positive growth figure. Iceland low cost airline WOW air transported 413 thousand passengers to and from the Iceland in August or 28% more passengers than in August 2017.
Furthermore, WOW air seat utilisation was 93% in August this year, compared with 90% last year.
The seating efficiency has increased despite a 30% increase in seat availability compared with the same period last year.
The proportion of connecting passangers has also increased, but this year the ratio was 61% in August, compared to 43% in the same period last year.
WOW air has never transported an equal number of passengers in one month and this is the second time the company carries over 400,000 thousand passengers in a month.
The press release also states that the proportion of transferees has not been the same before. So far this year, WOW air has moved around 2.4 million passengers. WOW air now flies to forty destinations in Europe, Asia and North America.
Flights to New Delhi start in December this year, but this is the first time in the Icelandic aviation history, which offers scheduled flights to India.
