It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Helene Hallre as General Manager of the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Aarhus in Denmark, effective October 1, 2017. Helene succeeds Nino Rosenlund, who was appointed General Manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Beijing.
Helene started her career with Carlson Rezidor in August 2005 at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Oslo. Throughout her career, Helene has held various positions in the company such as Food & Drinks Service Manager, Meeting and Events Operations Manager and Director Food and Drinks in Norway before she moved to Denmark in August 2015. She joined the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Copenhagen as Food & Drinks Manager and was within short time promoted to Hotel Manager for the iconic hotel in Copenhagen.
Helene is one of the most award-winning talents in the Nordic hotel industry and is recognized as one of the best Norwegian young leaders.
In 2012, she was awarded the “Young leader of the year” at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Oslo, in 2015, she was awarded the “Young Leader of the Year” at HSMAI Chapter Norway Awards, and in November 2016, she was ranked as the third best leader talent in Norway by E24, the most prestigious talent award in Norway.
Helene is known for making Every Moment Matter for our guests and she consistently focuses on having good conversations with our guests by listening to their stories and by asking questions.
Through this she has found that she can learn a lot about how we make our guests feel, how we can improve in our service delivery and also what we should do more of to make our guests feel welcome and recognized. Throughout her career Helene has experienced many memorable moments working for the company, but when asked, one of the ones she particularly remembers well is when one of her colleagues in the breakfast team started drawing smileys on the boiled eggs he delivered to guests.
This simple little gesture received fantastic feedback from all guests saying that we gave them the perfect start to their day, and started them off with a smile!Helene is a graduate from the Rezidor Mentee Program under the guidance and mentoring of Sonja Dive-Dahl, General Manager of the Radisson Blu Malmö Hotel and District Director for Denmark and Iceland.
Helene is also a graduate from the very first Rezidor STEPS Program for High Potential Female Leaders and she is Master Trainer for Experience Meetings for the Nordics and has been trainer at the Nordic Business Schools. Helene has a Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management from the University of Stavanger in Norway and a Master Certificate in International Management and Global Leadership from Hawaii Pacific University.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, water sports and spending time with her friends and family. Helene’s advice to anyone considering a career as a General Manager is to “take every opportunity you have to learn from the people around you and listen to their stories, as you create your own”.
