Last night, the stars of the tourism industry were honored during the annual HSMAI awards ceremony in Oslo. The “Seller of the Year” award went to Christine Kausland from Clarion Hotel The Hub.
Kausland, who was originally a trained chef, joined the Nordic Choice Hotel in 2005 as part of Inhouse Sales at Clarion Hotel Admiral, where she later became sales manager. In 2010 she started as sales manager at Clarion Hotel Royal Christiania (now Clarion Hotel The Hub) but since 2014 has been Director of Sales.
In the nomination, it was highlighted that Christine is a skilled team player and leader that has resulted in good team results. In addition, she is an individualist who has shown extremely good sales results for the hotel. Christine has taken the step further after opening, where she now works to develop herself as a manager by being in charge of the entire sales and planning department at the hotel, in addition to her own sales. Christine is also one of the profiles in the series “Hotelleventyret” TV Norway where she makes a very good character. She lives for the job and shows exactly the spirit of Nordic Choice Hotels we want: energy, courage and enthusiasm.
– I think it is incredibly rewarding to be awarded this award and to be recognized for the work that has been done, especially outside our own organisation. It has been an educational, tough and inspiring period and I would like to point out that the award is a team award. The sales results we have provided are team work, so here everyone in my team deserves the honor and honor. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank the director of Clarion Hotel The Hub, André Schreiner, for the opportunity to join us on this wonderful journey, says a happy and touched Christine.
300 million on book already 3 months before opening
Clarion Hotel The Hub, which opened March 1, 2019, had already sold $ 300 million under Christine’s management 3 months before opening. So far this year she has signed contracts for 40 million.
– Having employees like Christine is absolutely invaluable. Not only is she proficient in what she does and surpasses all goals, but she is also an amazing colleague and leader. We are very fortunate to have an employee like Christine, and this award is highly deserved. I would also like to congratulate Petter Johan Sandven from Clarion Hotel and Congress Oslo Airport who were nominated in the same category, says Director of Operations Norway Jannica Landmark.
