Widerøe enter into a cooperation agreement with KLM

Widerøe and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines enter into a cooperation agreement that extends the global route offer for both companies. The agreement will enter into force in March.

The two airlines now form a so-called code share agreement, which means that our common customers can fly with both airlines on the same booking. Thanks to the new agreement, which will come into force on 5 March, KLM and Widerøe will offer customers new opportunities and flexibility to choose a larger number of destinations on their travels. International tourists will now be able to find Widerøe destinations at KLM and Norwegian travelers will have access to KLM’s major international network.

– Widerøe continuously works to improve the flight offer for our customers in District Norway. We have cooperative agreements with many companies and now we expand our cooperation with KLM. With this agreement, Widerøe’s destinations will be marketed by one of the strongest brands in Europe. This is good news for us who wish to further develop the tourism industry in Norway.
KLM’s large network also provides access to more destinations for Widerøe’s customers, “says Christian Skaug, Director Network & Pricing in Widerøe.

KLM will add a KL code on Widerøe’s domestic routes, which means that KLM passengers who are to change flights in Oslo, Trondheim or Bergen can continue the journey with the same ticket.

“We look at Widerøe as a key partner to expand our route offerings in Norway, and we are pleased to give our passengers benefits in terms of flexibility and a greater number of destinations. The new cooperation will give travelers – and especially commuters who live in outskirts of Norway – a completely new approach to KLM’s international network of air routes. At the same time, we will be able to serve the most important markets for incoming tourism to attractive destinations in the north and west coast of Norway, “said Paul Terstegge, general manager of Air France KLM in Norway.

The cooperation will start on 5 March and cover the following routes:

• Bergen (BGO) – Tromsø (TOS), Bodø (BOO), Kristiansund (KSU), Molde (MOL), Ålesund (AES) and Florø (FRO)
• Trondheim (TRD) – Tromsø (TOS), Kristiansund (KSU) and Harstad / Narvik (EVE).
• Oslo (OSL) – Florø (FRO), Ørsta / Volda (HOV), Leknes (LKN), Svolvær (SVJ), Stokmarknes (SKN), Mo i Rana (MQN) The

route offer will be expanded further in the future.
