At a press conference at Quality Hotel Arlanda Airport today, the plans for the airport city, Airport City Stockholm, were presented. One of the news that Nordic Choice Hotels Founder Petter A Stordalen could reveal is the construction of an additional hotel tower for Quality Hotel Arlanda Airport, thus receiving 419 hotel rooms and greatly increasing the conditions for more and larger fairs and meetings in the Arlanda area.
Arlanda Airport is undergoing major changes based on the plan to attract 50 million travelers by year to 2050. To increase the attractiveness of the region and the airport, there is an exploitation of the Arlandastad. Today at a press conference, plans were presented on Scandinavian Xpo, which means that Arlanda will have its first international trade fair area. The rebuilding of the 100,000 sqm property has begun and will come when the project is ready in 2020 to be a modern meeting place with several major exhibition halls, a comprehensive conference and restaurant business. An important part of the project is increased hotel capacity.
“The plans for Arlanda are sky high and we should not be worse. We turn to another impressive hotel tower. With the new hotel building in 2020, we will be able to offer 419 hotel rooms and a completely renovated hotel area. This greatly increases the region’s ability to attract further fairs and meetings. The potential that Arlanda has is enormous and I love that we have the opportunity to participate in the development of the area, says Nordic Choice Hotels founder Petter A Stordalen.
In addition to the new hotel body, the new exhibition area Scandinavian Xpo is also a key in the creation of the new airport city.

The transformation of the area has begun. In 2020, the new hotel tower is expected to be completed for guests and in connection with it, a renovation and refurbishment of the existing hotel will be carried out. When the project is clear, the hotel has grown from 228 to 419 hotel rooms.
The hotel will have a meeting space of a total of 2323 sqm with 13 meeting rooms from 17 to 720. At the hotel there is also a lobby bar, a restaurant for 293 guests and a fitness area of 120 sqm.
